Crafted with care in Italy
Each ALEMI bag is designed in Switzerland and brought to life by a small, family-owned atelier in Northern Italy. Every detail is meticulously handcrafted with precision, care, and generations of leatherworking expertise.
Our close relationship with the atelier – just across the border – allows for constant exchange, short development cycles, and full visibility throughout the production process. All bags are made under fair working conditions, with great attention to quality, transparency, and long-term partnership.
CERTIFIED ITALIAN LEATHER
At ALEMI, we believe that the beauty of leather lies not only in its appearance, but in how it’s sourced, handled, and preserved. That’s why we work exclusively with Italian tanneries that meet strict European regulations and share our commitment to quality and responsibility.
All leathers used in our collections are sourced as a by-product of the food industry — a conscious choice to avoid waste and make use of a natural material that would otherwise be discarded. We do not use exotic leathers.
Our leather partners have obtained international Leather Working Group (LWG) and/or ISO 14001 certifications — standards that focus on the responsible use of chemicals, water, energy, and waste treatment in the tanning process.
Pebbled Leather
This leather features a textured surface with a soft, structured feel. Thanks to its finish, it offers high resistance to scratches, water, and dirt, making it a durable choice for everyday use.
Soft Grain Leather
With its naturally soft texture and minimal surface treatment, this leather retains a subtle, organic look. It balances a refined appearance with excellent wear performance.
Saffiano Leather
Saffiano is defined by its fine crosshatch pattern, pressed into a coated surface. This structure makes the leather particularly resistant to scratches, dirt, and moisture – ideal for clean, polished styles.
Suede Leather
Suede stands out with its velvety surface and soft touch. As an open-pored material, it is more delicate than our other leathers and should be treated with care to maintain its appearance over time.

We produce in small batches to maintain the highest quality and avoid overproduction. Our bags are not created for trends or seasons – they are designed to accompany you for years.
